On Friday in the Hunter, Pauline Hanson announced former NSW investment commissioner Mike Newman as state leader for the 2027 election. He will contest Labor-held Cessnock. He told the ABC he wants cheap energy “just like Florida and Texas.”

YouGov had One Nation on 28 percent in mid-June
A Sky News YouGov poll, 9–16 June, 1,492 voters, put One Nation at 28 percent of the primary vote, Labor 26, the Coalition 21. At the May 2025 federal election the party was a minor. Thirteen months later it was level with the government in that sample.
