Sixteen billion ordinary kilometres, still supervised

Tesla’s safety page showed Full Self-Driving (Supervised) past 16 billion kilometres in early May. In January Elon Musk had named that figure as the training data needed for safe unsupervised driving.

Brookshire starts Megapack 3

On 6 August Tesla’s Megapack account said Megapack 3 is rolling at the new Megafactory in Brookshire, Texas. Designed capacity is 50 GWh a year. Each unit holds about 5 MWh.

Optimus Gen 3 goes into the old S/X hall

Tesla told JPMorgan in August that the Optimus Gen 3 design is finalized, the supply chain is essentially locked, and a production line is going into Fremont’s old Model S/X facility.

Sparks inaugurates the Semi plant on 24 September

Tesla Semi posted on 24 August that the dedicated factory in Sparks, Nevada, will be inaugurated on 24 September. The 158,000-square-metre plant is aimed at 50,000 trucks a year. The first high-volume Semi left the line in April.

Tesla told JPMorgan v15 runs on AI4

At Fremont in August, Tesla called FSD v15 a step-change the size of v13 to v14 and said the AI4 computer already in the car can run it unsupervised.

Giga Texas has Cybercab in Production

Tesla’s Q2 2026 shareholder update lists more than 125,000 Cybercabs a year at Gigafactory Texas, in the same Production column as Cybertruck. The first production car left the line in February. Employee rides on campus started in July.
