Castlevania: Symphony of the Night shipped in Japan on 20 March 1997 and in North America on 2 October 1997. Alucard, a map that folds back on itself, and a PlayStation disc that taught a generation what a castle is.

Capcom put the physical Devil Hunter Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 on 28 August. Digital has been on the eShop since 23 June. The series turned 25 on 23 August.
