Part Three was shot on IMAX 70 mm and locked a three-week IMAX window
Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three filmed in IMAX 70 mm. In the U.S. it has a three-week IMAX exclusivity over Avengers: Doomsday. That is a studio putting money into metal and film, not only a volume of pixels.

Part Three dropped new footage as IMAX tickets went up in August
On 18 August, Cosmic Book News and AMC traffic showed Dune: Part Three IMAX 70 mm and premium-large-format tickets on sale, with new footage attached. A trailer is a dispatch. This one had a date in the lower third a family can circle: 18 December 2026.

Part Three’s December window is a palace date, not a pile-on

Dune: Part Three is dated 18 December 2026
Warner Bros. and Legendary have Villeneuve’s third Arrakis film in theatres and IMAX in North America on 18 December, internationally from 16 December. It adapts Dune Messiah. Principal photography wrapped in November 2025.
